However, if you’re downloading large language models, working with cloud IDEs, or running multiple AI services simultaneously, 250/100 Mbps (Troppo Go More) or higher will significantly improve your experience. The higher upload speed is particularly valuable for pushing code, container images, and training data.

Running local LLMs (like Llama, Mistral, or CodeLlama via Ollama or LM Studio) primarily depends on your computer’s hardware, not your internet speed. However, downloading these models requires good bandwidth. A 7B parameter model is typically 4-7GB, while 70B models can be 40GB+. With our 250/100 plan, you can download a 7GB model in about 4 minutes. Once downloaded, local inference doesn’t need internet at all.

Absolutely. Cloud IDEs like GitHub Codespaces, Replit, and VS Code Remote work excellently on NBN. The key is having a stable, low-latency connection rather than raw speed. Our NBN plans provide consistent performance that makes cloud development feel like working locally. For the best experience with real-time collaboration features, we recommend 100/20 Mbps or higher.

No special connection is needed for cloud AI assistants – they work on any NBN plan. However, faster speeds mean quicker responses, especially when sending large code files or receiving long outputs. The difference is most noticeable when streaming responses from AI services while simultaneously running other development tools, containers, or tests.
